I honestly don’t have much worth writing about today except for a really cool trailer that recently released on YouTube.
No, not the one involving ridiculous lightsabers and the Millennium Falcon. I’m talking about real art.
Sam Donnelly, a Knoxville-based comedian and videographer, recently teamed up with veteran funnyman Tim Northern (Last Comic Standing) to create an in-depth episodic documentary series called “I’m a Fucking Comic.” The series will begin airing episodes starting at Christmas, which will be nice for those of you who are sick of watching the same five movies every year around this time of year, and from the brief bit of footage in this trailer I couldn’t be happier.
Donnelly had the following to say when reached for comment:
“We’re poppin’ the lid off of the entire industry. I don’t care what anyone says. People love reality. REAL reality. People need the nitty-gritty. And I’m a Fucking Comic delivers that post haste. We follow and talk to people of all ilk in the national underground comedy scene: comics, promoters, venue owners, fans and patrons, etc. We show the good and the bad because both are necessary to maintain this art. We also believe that people are interested in knowing how we all work and live. This is bigger than any one comic or one name. This is about ALL of us as a culture and as a people. You think the new Star Wars is buzzworthy? Gonzo journalism is back in a big fucking way!”
Sam then chased me down the street with a steel chair. The things I do for you readers.
Anyway, here’s the trailer. Give it a look and share it with your loved ones, church bible study groups, co-workers and significant others as much as you can:
Christmas can’t get here fast enough now. I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling festive every time I watch that video.
